The histological features were consistent with an angiolipomatous hamartomatous mesenchymal proliferation. Conclusions: Angiolipomatous hamartoma might be histogenetically related to soft tissue angiomatosis.

No further resection was indicated. The patient recovered from surgery well and was taken back to the ward. Final pathology showed an 8 × 6 × 6 cm exophytic colon lesion consisting mainly of fatty tissue with ulceration.
